12+ years of professional experience
2018 - CurrentVarious clients (RateIt, Functionly, The Minderoo Foundation, Risk Management Technologies and others)
Technology, Growth & Innovation Consultant
I work as a creative technologist and product manager with government, startup and corporate clients to design clever strategies, build better products, engage with emerging technology and to be prepared for the future of work.
This has involved projects such as:
- working on the strategy, innovation and product development of software for Risk Management Technologies. The company has two products – one in chemical safety management and the other in enterprise risk management. Clients include the Australian Defence Force, Boeing, BHP, Qantas and the Australian Federal Police.
- designing and co-running Dream Summit, backed by The Minderoo Foundation. The summit brought together extraordinary Indigenous entrepreneurs from all over Australia, to develop and grow their businesses. This involved everything across designing the education material; securing speakers such as the ex-CEO of Facebook Australia and South Sydney Rabbitohs CEO; working with prominent Indigenous artists and photographers for staging and storytelling; full spectrum event design/management; travel arrangements for over 100 people from all over Australia; scheduling; sourcing; and much more.
- assisting with the seed round (oversubscribed) and building the foundations of Functionly, a SaaS platform that is creating the future of work design and helping CEOs to scale without breaking. I oversaw a huge launch at the SaaStr conference in San Jose, California – including the use of custom branded neon pink basketballs, a llama mascot named Larry and hundreds of new sign ups from top-tier tech company CEOs and executives.
- setting up the growth team and processes at international startup, RateIt, that helps brands like IKEA, Uber, Gardens by the Bay (Singapore), Aldi and FitnessFirst deliver exceptional customer experiences. I also managed the production of the Customer Experience Leaders podcast – all about how brands delight their customers: rated 4.9/5 on Apple podcasts.
2017 - CurrentStartupWA
StartupWA is the conduit between startups, government, media, investors and the wider startup ecosystem. In 2019, I was proud to personally collate, design and produce the Startup Report on the startup ecosystem in Western Australia.
2019 - CurrentBusinessNews WA
With over 40,000 monthly readers, I research and write on topics such as ethical hacking, UAV technology, deepfake videos, sensing tech and more.
2016 - 2020KISANII
KISANII is a self-operational e-commerce store that sells Australian-designed ethical beauty products to consumers globally. I grew the Instagram following to 14K followers in under 6 months and KISANII has been featured by prominent media brands like the Lifestyle Channel, Glamour Magazine, Cosmopolitan and others.
I've often used KISANII to experiment with new branding, social and growth hacking ideas. I've then been able to share those learnings with my own clients.
2018 - 2020Skills of the Modern Age
Advisor and Facilitator
Working alongside the founder, I helped to shape SoMA into a powerful education and technology company that helps people, communities and companies thrive in the future of work. This involved designing workshops, innovation programs and unique tools, as well as advising and managing on growth and marketing strategies. I personally designed and produced a lot of promotional merchandise for the company, including high bounce balls, laptop cases, pencil cases and innovation games that we used to entice more attendees at workshops. Each of our workshops ultimately lead to multiple contracts from large corporations for larger and ongoing pieces of work. An example of a tool I produced/manufactured is Elevator Pitch – a team-based ice-breaker for workshop facilitators and anyone engaging a crowd to get the entrepreneurial juices flowing. The idea being to come up with a new idea for a specific problem and customer within a few minutes of brainstorming.
2019 + 2020Curtin University
Accelerator Program Designer, Manager & Facilitator
I was engaged by Curtin University to design, facilitate and manage their accelerator program, working with past students, researchers and staff. I worked alongside and coached many entrepreneurs and businesses, most of which were using very new technology. This included hydrofuel cell batteries for UAV use; non-invasive glucose testing; advanced logistical software to speed up the movement of shipping containers in the busiest ports in the world; Pokemon-Go-esque virtual reality software used by museums (to project an animated animal over a physical skeleton for example), city councils and more; bionanocomposite plastics which drastically increase shelf-life of foods and are much safer for the environment; software that aided the management and well-being of people with dementia and their carers; and others.
2019 + 2020University of Western Australia: IQ Academy
Program Designer, Manager & Facilitator
The University of Western Australia recognised that university courses weren’t necessarily offering everything their students needed to be ready for the future – in particular, with soft skills like creativity and mental agility. I worked with UWA to design, mentor and facilitate their extra-curricular program (but recognised on their transcript), with multiple iterations/experiments to provide their students with the toolsets, skillsets and mindsets to be future-ready. This was open to students from all study areas – from psychology, to engineering, to the arts, law and everything in between.
2015 - 2018Dapper Apps
Co-Founder | Chief Operating Officer
I co-founded Dapper Apps and led a team of ~40 developers, designers and account managers. In this time, we produced over 80 mobile apps and hundreds of digital products. Our client list included RAC, Nicheliving, State Library of WA, Richgro and many others. Within 6 months, the company website was on page 1 on Google search results for over 40 targeted search phrases and we quickly became one the leading app development agencies in Western Australia. In our first year, we turned over $2m in revenue. I stepped out in 2018 to work independently.
2014 - 2015Applabs Technologies Ltd
Chief Operating Officer
Applabs was a publicly listed company, with in-house tech products as well as an app development agency. I was originally engaged to be the Marketing Strategist and Communications Lead, but was then promoted to COO of the app development services division within a few months. We worked with entrepreneurs and large organisations to design, build, test and launch mobile apps. We also had a large-scale real estate product, HomeOpen.
2009 - 2013Omiron Corporation
Marketing Director | Product Manager
Omiron is a high-tech R&D company, where I worked side-by-side with electronics engineers and software developers to create new products from concept through to commercialisation. I led the direction of the products (both hardware and software), whilst working on product launch strategies and developing relationships with key partners and potential buyers. Our key product was a black box-type of device, used for on-road safety.
2008 - 2009International Advertising Association
At the IAA, I worked alongside the world’s leading executives and creatives from top international ad agencies (Ogilvy & Mather, Euro RSCG, McCann Worldgroup, Draftfcb, Saatchi & Saatchi, Interbrand, Tribal DDB and Digitas) on a climate change campaign for the United Nations, Hopenhagen. The campaign engaged millions of people from all over the world.
One of the highlights was getting to edit a speech regarding the initiative for the former UN Secretary-General, Mr. Ban Ki-Moon.
I spent a short part of my career working in ad-land for Adcorp before being offered the opportunity to go to New York. I managed corporate and government clients to create their ads, book space and manage campaigns.
2005 - 2008Rusty Surfboards
Customer Service | Sales | Finance
During my first degree, I worked part-time and full-time in different departments with global surf label, Rusty Surfboards. Sales, design, marketing, logistics, manufacturing, warehousing, management and everything else was housed in the headquarters in Australia, with branches all over the world.

It has always been a very fast-paced, energetic and rewarding experience. Many of the teams have gone on to be successful businesses.
